One Less 8 Point In The Woods of PA Early Rut Activity 2014

My Father-in-law killed a decent 8 point last night. As it came down to him it was making a scrape and rubbing his face on some branches above the scrape. He also saw two other scrapes on his way to the stand. All the bucks tines were broken off at the tips most likely from fighting. It is very early for this kind of rutting activity in PA but also very exciting.

You can see from his G3 on his right side it was broken off. Where he was killed there is a high concentration of bucks and it appears they are starting to fight. I haven't made it out since opening day but will try to Friday night and Saturday.
